Willoughby Corner

Solar

Completed in 2025, Willoughby Corner is Boulder County Housing Authority’s newest multifamily development, located southwest of the intersection of 120th Avenue and Emma Street in East Lafayette. Designed to serve multiple generations—including families, individuals, older adults, and the local workforce—the community delivers more than 400 permanently affordable rental and for-sale homes. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and livability, the development features a diverse mix of apartments, duplexes, and townhomes that support long-term housing stability while strengthening the surrounding community.

Douglass Colony Group brought significant value to the project by delivering a comprehensive solar scope across six buildings, supporting BCHA’s commitment to energy efficiency and reduced operational costs. Douglass Colony installed solar systems totaling more than 400 kW across the site, including 48.015 kW systems on both 939 and 955 Canterbury Drive, a 26.19 kW system on the community building, 99.91 kW on MF-1, 78.57 kW on MF-2, and a 100.88 kW system serving the senior housing building.

The systems utilize high-performance Hanwha Q.PEAK DUO 485W solar modules, Unirac racking, and Solectria inverters to ensure durability, efficiency, and long-term reliability. Through precise coordination, technical expertise, and a focus on quality installation, Douglass Colony helped deliver a resilient renewable energy solution that supports affordable housing while advancing sustainability goals for Boulder County.
