Moxy – University Hill Hotel
Marriot and Moxy Hotels were ready to bring their modern, cool, and nature-inspired awesomeness to Boulder, Colorado. The chain looked to the city tucked in the mountains as the next location for their lively, sleek hotel. The hotel features indoor and outdoor spaces that blend the beauty of nature with cutting-edge functionality. Unique amenities such as Bar Moxy, retail shops, restaurants, and more are what sets this hotel apart from others in the area.
With so many amenities and intricate design, Douglass Colony Group had to get creative, along with their partners, and think of ways to build and mold the property using their unique set of skills. The project included the installation of 32,00 sq ft of below grade waterproofing in both buildings. Douglass Colony then had to fabricate and deliver all framing on both buildings, including completed panelized walls two floors high from the podium level. We installed 30,200 sq ft of roofing on both buildings, including an Elevate TPO full taper roof system. To protect and ensure the functionality of the outdoor roof spaces, we installed 5,200 sqft of Hydrotech and pavers on various patio decks. For With the wall-sides of the buildings we installed 9,000 sq ft of plate panel system, metal screen wall panels, and various sheet metal flashing throughout the building elevations.
With this amount of service input from all partners involved, the Moxy Hotel sits as a beacon full of fun in the heart of Boulder, Colorado.
