Aurora Mental Health

Metals, Roofing

Completed in 2025, the Aurora Mental Health and Recovery Center is a dedicated medical facility designed to expand access to critical mental health and substance use services for the Aurora community. Opening in early 2026, the center will operate 24/7 as a walk-in access point, providing same-day care, crisis intervention, and referrals for both inpatient and outpatient treatment. The facility plays an essential role in supporting individuals and first responders by simplifying access to behavioral health services and strengthening community-wide care.

Douglass Colony Group (DCG) provided comprehensive roofing and metal services, delivering a durable, high-performance building envelope tailored to the demands of a healthcare environment. DCG installed 239 squares of fully adhered 60-mil white TPO roofing and 1,300 linear feet of custom metal. The roofing system included a full tapered insulation design at ¼” per foot, mechanically attached ½” DDP at 16 fasteners per board, a loose-laid first layer of 2.6″ ISO, and a splatter application using Flex Fast. Terminations were completed with a gravel stop detail from Colony to ensure long-term weather resistance and performance.

Partnering closely with Saunders Construction, DCG’s expertise, coordination, and attention to detail helped deliver a reliable and long-lasting solution for this vital community resource.
