The Hub is one of Denver’s most desirable and attractive new office buildings. Located in the vibrant River North Arts District, it is home to a plethora of galleries, entertainment venues, bars, breweries, and restaurants. The building itself was designed with an efficient structural grid and offers a column-free framework, maximizing the flexibility of the space and providing an attractive window line with views of the mountains while the outside highlights the RiNO Art District’s long history in the arts, showcasing original artworks from local artists.

The flexible, attractive space combined with its central location and generous amenities make it Denver’s premiere office space. So, when The Hub needed solar panels to be installed, they turned to Denver’s premiere commercial construction and solar company, Douglass Colony.

In the same way that there is nothing average about The Hub, there was nothing average about this job. The main challenge was the sheer scale and height of the building. Towering at well over 100 feet, Douglass Colony had to get creative to be able to install the solar panels.

After a bit of strategy and partnering with Green Street Power Partners and Denver Electrical Contractors, Douglass Colony created a custom hybrid of ballasted and attached racking to be able to successfully and safely attach and secure each panel.

The result is a solar array as unique as the building it powers. The 100kW photovoltaic array now provides a reliable source of clean, sustainable energy for this new Denver hotspot.
