True Continuity of Insulation
Over the past few years, municipalities have slowly been adopting the most current versions of the building codes. With these changes, have come the adjusted clarifications on exterior continuous insulation systems. With their increased energy efficiency and thermal performance, Continuous Insulation systems (CI) are being phased in more than ever. In earlier years, zee girts and rigid insulation were acceptable adaptations to the CI requirements but clarifications in the code have closed those “loop holes” and now clearly require true continuity of insulation.
